Investigating the training and development of O24U NZ Ltd to improve employeesâ performance
The topic of this research is to investigate the training and development of O24U to improve employeesâ performance. This research aims to: firstly, investigate the process of O24U NZ Ltd using training and development; secondly, to research the relationship between the training and development and employeesâ performance; and finally, to identify several recommendations on training and development to improve employeesâ performance.
O24U NZ Ltd was founded in 2015. and is located at Hamilton CBD. It mainly provides healthcare products made in New Zealand and Australia. There are four people currently working for the store, and there are about 20 competitors of O24U, such as Green, Sunshine and DeKang, in Hamilton.
Literature for the review was chosen through the scope (training and development, healthcare product industry in New Zealand and China, strategic human resource management (SHRM) and benchmarking). The researcher conducted four interviews to gather the necessary data for this study (3 employees of O24U and one staff member from one of the competitors). The data were analysed through inductive thematic analysis. Six themes were analysed: the purpose, type and issues of training and development, on-boarding, SHRM and the benefits of Oceanian healthcare products. The researcher found that training and development are vital for any organisation, on-the-job training has become the most popular approach to operating training and development programmes, and the main function of SHRM is to manage employeesâ values creation capacities. Several recommendations are made which include five aspects (situation of the store, using systems, stocktaking, packaging and cleaning)
Multi-neutron transfer coupling in sub-barrier 32S+90,96Zr fusion reactions
The role of neutron transfers is investigated in the fusion process below the
Coulomb barrier by analyzing 32S+90Zr and 32S+96Zr as benchmark reactions. A
full coupled-channel calculation of the fusion excitation functions has been
performed for both systems by using multi-neutron transfer coupling for the
more neutron-rich reaction. The enhancement of fusion cross sections for
32S+96Zr is well reproduced at sub-barrier energies by NTFus code calculations
including the coupling of the neutron-transfer channels following the Zagrebaev
semiclassical model. We found similar effects for 40Ca+90Zr and 40Ca+96Zr

Renormalization Effects in a Dilute Bose Gas
The low-density expansion for a homogeneous interacting Bose gas at zero
temperature can be formulated as an expansion in powers of ,
where is the number density and is the S-wave scattering length.
Logarithms of appear in the coefficients of the expansion. We show
that these logarithms are determined by the renormalization properties of the
effective field theory that describes the scattering of atoms at zero density.

Solar Mikheyev-Smirnov-Wolfenstein Effect with Three Generations of Neutrinos
Under the assumption that the density variation of the electrons can be
approximated by an exponential function, the solar Mikheyev-Smirnov-Wolfenstein
effect is treated for three generations of neutrinos. The generalized
hypergeometric functions that result from the exact solution of this problem
are studied in detail, and a method for their numerical evaluation is
presented. This analysis plays a central role in the determination of neutrino
masses, not only the differences of their squares, under the assumption of

Superconductivity in MgB_2 doped with Ti and C
Measurements of the superconducting upper critical field, H_{c2}, and
critical current density, J_c, have been carried out for MgB_2 doped with Ti
and/or C in order to explore the problems encountered if these dopants are used
to enhance the superconducting performance. Carbon replaces boron in the MgB_2
lattice and apparently shortens the electronic mean free path thereby raising
H_c2. Titanium forms precipitates of either TiB or TiB_2 that enhance the flux
pinning and raise J_c. Most of these precipitates are intra-granular in the
MgB_2 phase. If approximately 0.5% Ti and approximately 2% C are co-deposited
with B to form doped boron fibers and these fibers are in turn reacted in Mg
vapor to form MgB_2, the resulting superconductor has H_{c2}(T=0) ~ 25 T and
J_c ~ 10,000 A/cm**2 at 5 K and 2.2 T.Comment: 11 pages, 10 figure
Quasi-Periodic Releases of Streamer Blobs and Velocity Variability of the Slow Solar Wind near the Sun
We search for persistent and quasi-periodic release events of streamer blobs
during 2007 with the Large Angle Spectrometric Coronagraph on the \textit{Solar
and Heliospheric Observatory} and assess the velocity of the slow solar wind
along the plasma sheet above the corresponding streamer by measuring the
dynamic parameters of blobs. We find 10 quasi-periodic release events of
streamer blobs lasting for three to four days. In each day of these events, we
observe three-five blobs. The results are in line with previous studies using
data observed near the last solar minimum. Using the measured blob velocity as
a proxy for that of the mean flow, we suggest that the velocity of the
background slow solar wind near the Sun can vary significantly within a few
hours. This provides an observational manifestation of the large velocity

Magnetization distribution in the transverse Ising chain with energy flux
The zero-temperature transverse Ising chain carrying an energy flux j_E is
studied with the aim of determining the nonequilibrium distribution functions,
P(M_z) and P(M_x), of its transverse and longitudinal magnetizations,
respectively. An exact calculation reveals that P(M_z) is a Gaussian both at
j_E=0 and j_E not equal 0, and the width of the distribution decreases with
increasing energy flux. The distribution of the order-parameter fluctuations,
P(M_x), is evaluated numerically for spin-chains of up to 20 spins. For the
equilibrium case (j_E=0), we find the expected Gaussian fluctuations away from
the critical point while the critical order-parameter fluctuations are shown to
be non-gaussian with a scaling function Phi(x)=Phi(M_x/)=P(M_x)
strongly dependent on the boundary conditions. When j_E not equal 0, the system
displays long-range, oscillating correlations but P(M_x) is a Gaussian
nevertheless, and the width of the Gaussian decreases with increasing j_E. In
particular, we find that, at critical transverse field, the width has a
j_E^(-3/8) asymptotic in the j_E -> 0 limit.Comment: 8 pages, 5 ps figure
Fast Searching in Packed Strings
Given strings and the (exact) string matching problem is to find all
positions of substrings in matching . The classical Knuth-Morris-Pratt
algorithm [SIAM J. Comput., 1977] solves the string matching problem in linear
time which is optimal if we can only read one character at the time. However,
most strings are stored in a computer in a packed representation with several
characters in a single word, giving us the opportunity to read multiple
characters simultaneously. In this paper we study the worst-case complexity of
string matching on strings given in packed representation. Let be
the lengths and , respectively, and let denote the size of the
alphabet. On a standard unit-cost word-RAM with logarithmic word size we
present an algorithm using time O\left(\frac{n}{\log_\sigma n} + m +
\occ\right). Here \occ is the number of occurrences of in . For this improves the bound of the Knuth-Morris-Pratt algorithm.
Furthermore, if our algorithm is optimal since any
algorithm must spend at least \Omega(\frac{(n+m)\log
\sigma}{\log n} + \occ) = \Omega(\frac{n}{\log_\sigma n} + \occ) time to
read the input and report all occurrences. The result is obtained by a novel
automaton construction based on the Knuth-Morris-Pratt algorithm combined with
a new compact representation of subautomata allowing an optimal

Measurement of the Intrinsic Radiopurity of Cs-137/U-235/U-238/Th-232 in CsI(Tl) Crystal Scintillators
The inorganic crystal scintillator CsI(Tl) has been used for low energy
neutrino and Dark Matter experiments, where the intrinsic radiopurity is an
issue of major importance. Low-background data were taken with a CsI(Tl)
crystal array at the Kuo-Sheng Reactor Neutrino Laboratory. The pulse shape
discrimination capabilities of the crystal, as well as the temporal and spatial
correlations of the events, provide powerful means of measuring the intrinsic
radiopurity of Cs-137 as well as the U-235, U-238 and Th-232 series. The event
selection algorithms are described, with which the decay half-lives of Po-218,
Po-214, Rn-220, Po-216 and Po-212 were derived. The measurements of the
contamination levels, their concentration gradients with the crystal growth
axis, and the uniformity among different crystal samples, are reported. The
radiopurity in the U-238 and Th-232 series are comparable to those of the best
reported in other crystal scintillators. Significant improvements in
measurement sensitivities were achieved, similar to those from dedicated
massive liquid scintillator detector. This analysis also provides in situ
measurements of the detector performance parameters, such as spatial
resolution, quenching factors, and data acquisition dead time.Comment: 28 pages, 12 figure
Improved antitumor response to isolated limb perfusion with tumor necrosis factor after upregulation of endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide II in soft tissue sarcoma
BACKGROUND: Experiments with tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF) in rodents
have shown that a high dose can lead to hemorrhagic necrosis in tumors.
Endothelial monocyte-activating polypeptide II (EMAP-II) is a novel
tumor-derived cytokine, and its expression increases the TNF-1 receptor on
tumor endothelium, enhances the induction of tissue factor on tumor
endothelial cells, and has an antiangiogenic effect. It has recently been
shown that in vivo sensitivity of tumor vasculature to TNF is determined
by tumor production of EMAP-II. METHODS: We measured the level of EMAP-II
in a TNF-resistant soft tissue sarcoma. We subsequently
stabile-transfected this cell line with a retroviral construct containing
the EMAP gene. In an extremity perfusion model in tumor-bearing rats, we
measured response rates to TNF therapy. RESULTS: Functional EMAP-II
production was increased after this transfection. Immunostaining of
paraffin-embedded tumor tissue sections in rats showed an overexpression
of human EMAP-II. Results of the TNF perfusions in rats suggest that this
tumor is more sensitive to TNF therapy. CONCLUSIONS: EMAP-II is produced
in various levels. One can increase the sensitivity of tumor for TNF
therapy in vivo by upregulating the EMAP-II production. This result leaves
an opportunity for enhanced TNF response of tumors in future settings
